Terms of Use
Last updated
Overage is operated by North Park ("we", "us"). These terms cover the Overage website, REST API, MCP server and feeds (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use it.
What the Service is
Overage is a database of pricing, free-tier allowances and rate limits for SaaS products and APIs, collected from the providers' public pages. Each figure links to its source and shows when we last verified it.
Accuracy and no advice
Providers change prices without notice, and our extraction can be wrong or out of date. The data and any cost estimates are provided for information only. Check the linked source before you rely on a figure for a purchase, contract or budget. Nothing on the Service is financial, legal or procurement advice.
Data licence and attribution
Our compiled data is available under CC BY 4.0. You may copy, redistribute and build on it, including commercially, but you must cite Overage whenever you use it. This applies to the website, the REST API, the MCP server and the feeds, and to anything derived from them, including reports, comparisons, products, datasets, articles and AI-generated answers.
A valid citation names Overage, links to overage.io (or to the specific page the figure came from), and notes the licence. For example:
Source: Overage (overage.io), CC BY 4.0
- Where you show a figure to people, put the citation next to it or in the same view, not only in a footer of terms.
- Where you republish data in bulk, include the citation in the dataset, its documentation and any page that displays it, and say if you changed it.
- Where an AI agent or tool answers from our data, it should name Overage as the source and give the verified date and source link each response carries.
- Do not suggest that Overage or North Park endorses you or your use.
If you do not cite us, your licence to use the data ends. It is reinstated if you add the citation within 30 days of us telling you, or of you first noticing the omission. The licence covers our compilation and wording, not the providers' trademarks, logos or any content they own. Our code, design, logo and brand are not covered and remain ours.
API and MCP use
The REST API and MCP server are free to use without a key, within fair limits. You agree not to:
- send traffic that degrades the Service for others, or work around rate limits or blocks;
- scrape the website where the API or feeds would serve the same need;
- probe, attack or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or its infrastructure;
- use the Service to break the law or infringe anyone's rights;
- present our data as your own or remove or hide its citation.
We may rate-limit, restrict or block access at any time to protect the Service. We may change, suspend or retire any part of the Service, including endpoints and response formats, with or without notice.
Use by AI agents
If an AI agent or tool calls the Service on your behalf, you are responsible for how it uses the results. Agents should quote the freshness sentence and source that each response carries, and should not state a figure as current without it.
Corrections and submissions
You can report a wrong figure with the corrections endpoint. By sending a report you give us permission to use it to improve the data, without obligation to you. Do not include personal or confidential information.
Third-party services
The Service names and links to third-party products. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by them unless we say so. Their names belong to their owners and are used only to identify them. Their sites and terms are their own responsibility.
Availability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free or that any data will be complete or current.
Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for lost profits, savings or data, arising from your use of or reliance on the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, which for the free Service is zero. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction. This does not remove any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date above shows the latest version, and continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept it.
